How the Good Faith Estimate Plays out in Practice

When clients choose to enter therapy with me, we set a fee together and also discuss and agree on the frequency of sessions (most often weekly).

Payment is due for each session at the time of that session unless we make prior written arrangements otherwise.

Because of these practices, any client can easily and accurately predict what their charges will be for a session and are most likely to be for the next 12 months.

Additionally, as legally required, prior to my first session with any client, I will send a “Good Faith Estimate” letter confirming the fee and frequency we’ve agreed on, and, as a result, what charges are likely to be for the next 12 months. If a client's fee changes (always only after a discussion together), I send another “Good Faith Estimate” letter for the revised fee.
